Session Ends on Disappointing Note

The 66th general session of the Wyoming legislature adjourned in disappointing fashion as neither of our key objectives were heard.

This year was a budget session, which meant a bill needed a 2/3 vote by legislators to be referred to committee. For our Medicaid Expansion bill, that was a hurdle that we could not overcome. Our Telecommunicator CPR (TCPR) achieved that status, was referred to the Senate Transportation Committee and passed out of it unanimously. However, we ran out of time, and it was not considered on the Senate Floor before session ended.

There is good news, though! Medicaid Expansion and TCPR have been requested as interim topics by the same committees that sponsored them previously, the Revenue and Transportation Committees, respectively. We are working hard to ensure the Joint Management Council approves them as interim topics.

With your support, we’ll continue to work hard on these issues that will improve and save lives. Be on the lookout for opportunities for you to make health care coverage and life-saving TCPR a reality in Wyoming.
