Who:
Are you a student (age 13-24) who is concerned about the impact tobacco and vaping have on our health and environment? Do you know a student who is passionate about ending the tobacco and vaping epidemic among young people in the United States?
What:
We all know of the ways tobacco use and nicotine addiction harm our health – after all, these products are the leading cause of preventable disease and death in the world. But tobacco isn’t just a health issue; it’s also an environmental issue.
To acknowledge and amplify this year’s WNTD theme, the American Heart Association invites young people to create artistic pieces for our first ever art exhibit– from paintings, murals, photography, dance performances, spoken word poetry, songs, creative writing (and everything in between) – demonstrating the ways tobacco harms our health and pollutes our land, water and air.
This is a contest! All participants will receive a Tobacco Endgame t-shirt and the winners (which will be determined by the participants’ votes) will receive a prize! Please remember to submit your contact information including your home address below.
Participants can fulfill community service hours by submitting a piece to the art exhibit.
Where:
The art exhibit will be held virtually.
When:
• The deadline to submit a piece is May 13th.
• Winners will be announced on May 31st.
• The art exhibit will run from May 31st to June 10th on our website.
