Welcome to the New and Improved You’re the Cure

Some of you have been long term advocates, with us when we had successes like the doubling of the NIH budget more than a decade ago or along for the journey as we’ve passed smoke-free laws across the country. And some of you are new to the cause. We’re so glad you are here to join us in taking up the fight to create a world free of cardiovascular disease. And we’ve got something new to share with you, a brand new You’re the Cure site!

Why launch a new site? The way we communicate evolves every day and we needed to adapt to the environment and make sure our message was getting to decision-makers across the country. And we wanted to make it easier for heart and stroke advocates to take action, stay informed, and get connected. What can you expect from the new site?

  • A site you can access on your phone, tablet, or desktop
  • A leaderboard publicly recognizing our most active advocates
  • Streamlined process making it easier to take action
  • More options to help us customize communications based on your interests
  • A mobile program allowing advocates to take action wherever they are

On our new site you’ll have a chance to get to know the staff and volunteers behind the campaigns as they publish updates on the Pulse blog. So let’s meet the national team that keeps you up to date on federal initiatives and is the voice behind the campaigns. Here you see Matt, Clarissa, Mark, Hailey, Amy, and Brady who together bring national campaigns to life. Between them they have close to 25 years’ experience at AHA. We’re soccer moms, political junkies, runners, music lovers, artists, and most importantly passionate about our work and making a difference. We’ll tell you more about ourselves in future posts and we can’t wait to get to know you and hear your thoughts about the site. Don’t be shy – tell us what you like and what you don’t like. Thanks for visiting!
