On November 14, Alex Carmack joined the American Heart Association as a Community Government Relations Director. He will be responsible for working on tobacco control issues in Tennessee, such as advocating for local communities to have the right to pass smoke-free ordinances. Alex is based in Nashville, Tennessee and can be reached via email at [email protected]
A graduate of King University in Bristol, Tennessee, and the University of Memphis Graduate School, Alex spent the past four years working in the Tennessee House of Representatives as the staff person for Representative Bo Mitchell. While working for Representative Mitchell he was able to help pass legislation to make Nashville’s Ascend Amphitheater smoke-free. He has also worked on successful local and state political campaigns.
We are honored to have him join our team and look forward to working together toward major policy wins.
