She has prior experience as the California Center for Public Health Advocacy’s (CCPHA) Project Coordinator for their campaign to reduce consumption of sugar-sweetened beverages, “Kick the Can.”  She also served as their State and National Policy Coordinator (and later the State Policy Director), advocating for passage of state laws to improve the nutrition and physical activity of all Californians. Lizzie is certainly no stranger to the AHA team as her state policy work included proposed bills on soda taxes, healthy vending options, and sugar-sweetened beverage warning labels.

Lizzie’s policy advocacy experience allowed for a natural transition to her new role with the American Heart Association in February of 2017. Lizzie has hit the ground running with policy advocacy in the Bay Area. We look forward to all she can accomplish with the help of our outstanding advocacy volunteers, like you!
