Wear Red Day in the Buckeye State

Today marks the 10th Anniversary of Wear Red Day. More women know heart disease is the No. 1 killer of women, causing 1 in 3 deaths a year.  That's approximately 1 woman a day!  The good news is, in the 10 years women have been fighting heart disease, over 627,000 lives have been saved.

This week, Ohio's women legislators came together to add their voices to the fight.  They showed their committment by wearing red and also to work together on solutions.  Check out all of our photos, including proclamations in the House and in the Senate, on our Facebook page.

But the fight is far from over. And, the fight is more than just one day.  Let’s #GoRed!  Here are ways you can help us bring change to make Ohio healthier!

  • Wear Red Day and throughout February.  Share the message with your friends and family.  Encourage them to take the My Life Check/Simple 7 quiz to learn more about their personal health.
  • Register for Advocacy Day.  Let your voice join others from across the state to advocate for healthy policies (It really isn't scary!  We'll provide plenty of support!)  The deadline to register is March 3rd.
  • Click on the Action Page and send your online message today!

We want to see our advocates in red!  Post your pictures and tag us on Facebook and leave us comment below on what you'll be doing!
