Call Your State Lawmakers and help protect funding for vital programs!

The American Heart Association is proud of our work to support increasing access to affordable healthcare and food for all Utahns. Right now, that access might be more important than ever before. During an economic crisis, we expect the state will have to make difficult budget cuts. However, in this pandemic, we are seeing how closely individual health is tied to economic productivity, making it imperative to protect health care coverage and affordable food access for those most in need during this crisis.

Call your legislators TODAY and ask them not to cut funding for the Medicaid and SNAP programs.

The legislature will be holding a special session in mid-June to look at the state budget and recommend cuts to programs because of the current economic situation. Cutting funding for the Medicaid and SNAP programs could not happen at a worse time. Slashing benefits just as they are needed most could be a disaster. We need to protect our work force and improve our economic recovery by safeguarding Medicaid and SNAP funding.
