Update on Senate Bill 793

We are pleased to announce that the California Assembly for passed SB 793 on August 24th by a vote of 58 to one! Additionally, on Wednesday, August 26th, the California Senate will soon vote on SB 793. These votes come after Big Tobacco spent over $1 million this month on a barrage of television and radio ads in opposition as well as deliberately targeting supporters of the bill. But the thousands of actions from advocates like you helped ensure that our message was heard loud and clear!

SB 793 is expected to head to the Governor's desk with over 150 organizations signed on in support and over 42 co-authors! This is incredible news, BUT we need your help once again.

Whether it’s flavored e-cigarettes, menthol cigarettes or flavored cigars, the tobacco industry has used flavored products to hook young people for decades and now is our opportunity to pass legislation that will make it harder for youth to start a lifetime of nicotine addiction.
