Senate Bill 164, which will increase the tobacco sales age in CT to 21, is now before the Public Health committee. If passed, this bill will increase the sales age on ALL tobacco products, including e-cigarettes. I will also “grandfather” 18-20-year-olds to minimize any potential loss of revenue over the next two years, which is important to a state that is again facing a budget deficit. Finally, the health benefits of this bill will also include our members of the military.

We expect that the bill will be scheduled for a public hearing over the next two weeks. As updates become available on this important bill, we will keep you in the loop!
