The Tennessee Legislature adjourned on Wednesday, May 10.  We were very close to passing House Bill 372 that would give elementary students Physical Education classes.

However, several members of the House Finance Ways and Means Subcommittee stopped the bill by voting no.

Please ask members to reconsider their “No” vote on House Bill 372!

Tennessee is one of the few states in the country that does not currently require Physical Education classes for elementary students. This is despite our state’s high rates of obesity, physical inactivity and poor health among children.

We will continue to advocate for PE in elementary schools and hope you’ll join us. With your help, we can give every Tennessee elementary student Physical Education twice a week.
