Betsy is a native East Tennessean, who has called Middle Tennessee home for 20 years. She received her degree in Journalism and after a brief stint as a reporter, landed in a government relations role that changed the course of her career. She spent 13 years in various healthcare advocacy roles in both the public sector with the Department of Health and Tenncare, and the private sector with the Tennessee Hospital Association, UnitedHealthcare and Tennessee Health Care Association (THCA). Betsy is no stranger to the work at AHA. She’s passionate about our mission and has participated with our events, including Go Red and Heart Walk. Her work to successfully pass policy in Tennessee to build healthier lives for all will be fueled by an opportunity to honor her family impacted by cardiovascular disease.

Please join us in welcoming Betsy to the American Heart Association!
