You're the Cure advocates, I'm thrilled to share that Leanne Durm-Minoux officially joined the American Heart Association to serve as our Tennessee state government relations director on Thursday, December 6, 2018.
Leanne brings a unique blend of experience and background to her work with the American Heart Association: most recently Leanne served as legislative liaison for the Tennessee Department of Labor & Workforce Development. Additionally, Leanne worked for the National Federation of Independent Business; as Deputy Chief of Staff for U.S. Representative Scott DesJarlais; Special Projects Director for current U.S. Senator-elect Marsha Blackburn in the U.S. House of Representatives; the late U.S. Senator Fred Thompson; and former TN Governor Don Sundquist. Leanne also traveled throughout Tennessee’s 95 counties creating safety volunteer programs as Division Chief for the Tennessee Office of Homeland Security and served as a domestic preparedness training officer for the Tennessee Emergency Management Agency. Leanne began her career as a section editor and staff writer for The Tullahoma News and The Guardian. She is a graduate of the University of Tennessee and married Brian Minoux in September 2018. Brian and Leanne enjoy raising their rescue pup, Dilly.
Like so many colleagues and volunteers with family history connected to cardiovascular diseases, Leanne has a passion for health issues and making a positive impact through advocacy.
Leanne is based in our Nashville office and preparing for the Tennessee legislative session set to begin on Tuesday, January 8, 2019. Please comment below to join me in welcoming Leanne to the American Heart Association!
