Senate Bill 506, signed into law by Governor Mary Fallin today, will establish the Healthy Food Financing Initiative (HFFI) to incentivize the development of food systems in food deserts throughout Oklahoma. The program is intentionally broad to encompass a wide array of retailers, whether that be a full-service grocery store, a corner store, a mobile market, or farmers markets, depending on the specific needs of the community.

The American Heart Association is committed to making the healthy choice the easy choice by ensuring every Oklahoman has access to fresh and healthy foods.
