As we enjoy this season of thanks, we would be remiss if we didn’t count you, our advocates, as someone we are thankful for. Though we live in different places across the country, we all come together to use our superhero advocacy powers – you are saving lives by using your voice!

Even though election season is over, that doesn’t mean you can’t continue to make a difference in your local community. Taking a moment to send an action alert, make a call to your legislator, or invite a friend to join You’re the Cure makes you a superhero for those impacted by heart disease and stroke – and if you don’t believe me, take a minute and watch this!
It’s also a great time to share that our internal American Heart Association team of superheroes is growing too! Previously, you were an advocate working within your affiliate grouping of states – you joined us from the Founders Affiliate, Mid-Atlantic, or Greater Southeast. Now, we are excited to share that we are all working together under the East Region!
That means that you will be able to hear more about what your neighbors in other states are working on, as well as learning more skills from the Grassroots Directors in those areas! Eden (Founders Affiliate), Kim (Mid-Atlantic), and Julie (Greater Southeast) will each continue to work with you as we have locally, to grow you into a stronger, more engaged advocates, with even more resources to pass lifesaving policies with the help of our superheroes (y-o-u!)
We are also excited to work with Hailey Clements of our Federal Advocacy team, who (in addition to creating this video) is looking forward to working to provide you with cool tools, and an even better advocacy experience than what you’ve known!
We are so thankful to continue to work with each and every one of you in our local communities, across our states, and together as the East Region – because we know that our superheroes are how we have been so successful to pass the live-saving policies we have achieved - together.
