Arkansas loves its Advocates!

The Arkansas advocacy team would like to express our gratitude to all our wonderful advocates and volunteers!  The American Heart Association’s mission depends on its volunteers to carry our message, speak as and for survivors, and push for policies that improve the health of our communities.

From issues relating to the Arkansas Stroke Registry, Physical Education, healthy vending, and Smoke-Free policy, our volunteers have stepped up and made the American Heart Association’s advocacy effort here in Arkansas stronger than ever.

If you would like to join our team of volunteers you can email me at heyward.whetsell@heart.org, OR you can take action right now!  Currently, Little Rock City Manager Bruce Moore is considering a measure which would establish healthy vending standards on city property, ensuring heathy options for city employees and visitors.

If you would like to add your voice to this effort, follow this link and let City Manager Moore know that healthy food means healthy hearts!

This week is National Volunteer Week, but we feel like that is every week!  To our volunteers: you inspire us by showing heart disease and stroke who’s boss.

YOU are our why.
