Thank legislators who stood up for early childhood education in Washington

The 2021 legislative session has finished, and we are excited to share that one of the bills that passed and was signed by Governor Inslee invests heavily in early childhood education in our state.

This bill invests $3.7 million to support the expansion of our newly established Early Childhood Education and Assistance Program (ECEAP) for low-income infants and toddlers. This will have the dual impact of helping more parents go to work, while also ensuring children from 0 to 3 can access health screenings and referrals, help children acquire developmentally appropriate educational and social emotional skills, and have rich language opportunities.

Please thank key legislators who supported this bill!

It has been a difficult and uncertain year for our state and the legislative session has been unlike any other. We are thankful the legislature decided to prioritize investing in early childhood education and help the youngest Washingtonians get the best start possible.
