Historic Advocacy Victories in Texas  

2007     Secured a significant increase in tobacco taxes which will help to reduce smoking rates.
2013     Passed legislation requiring all high school graduates be trained in life-saving CPR Skills.
2017     Secured public funding for health initiatives targeting Heart Disease and Stroke in the city of Austin.
2018     Raised the minimum tobacco purchase age to 21 in the city of San Antonio and then on the state level in 2019.
2019     Have led the way in protecting Texans from secondhand smoke through the passage of over 100 local smoke-free air laws to date.
2019     Passed legislation ensuring better nutrition, physical activity and screen time limitation standards in child care centers across the state.
