This year we are going to be working on passing Telecommunicator CPR (T-CPR) policies. These policies will train emergency dispatchers how to coach people through CPR until medical personal arrive. South Dakota has no uniform policy train emergency dispatchers how to talk through this life saving technique. We can change that.

For every minute without CPR, someone who is having a cardiac arrest chances of survival drop by 10%. With immediate CPR the cardiac arrest victim’s chance of survival can double or even triple!

Training our emergency dispatchers to coach T-CPR is simply going to save lives, even if the bystander doesn’t know CPR the dispatcher will be able to tell them how to effectively do it.

We are excited to start working on getting these coaches into place.

Jacob
