Reality Illinois Students Advocate for Tobacco 21

Reality Illinois students have advocated the Wheaton and Glen Ellyn village boards for an ordinance on behalf of Tobacco 21 - prohibiting the sale of tobacco products to those younger than 21. On May 23rd, the students spoke with Steve Cochran of WGN 720AM about their tobacco policy work.

Reality Illinois students at WGN 720AM interview

 

Reality Illinois, the Teen Advisory Panel to the DuPage County Health Department, is seeking volunteers to be a part of a summer volunteer initiative committed to wellness and substance abuse prevention. Students will meet weekly throughout the summer as they gain tools to strengthen their leadership and decision-making skills. All DuPage high school students are welcome to join and enhance their resume, while making a difference. The first meeting will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 13, at the Glenbard District 87 Facility Center, 671 Crescent Blvd. in Glen Ellyn.
