A Look Back at 2019
2019 was another big year for You’re the Cure, both in Washington D.C. and across the country. Whether you called or emailed, sent tweets or attended legislative meetings with lawmakers, there is no doubt that YTC advocates were a relentless force for longer healthier lives and we made a tremendous impact in 2019!
Tips on having difficult conversations.
With the holidays right around the corner, we know at some point we all will be faced with that one family member or friend bringing up tough subjects that might make you feel uncomfortable.
The Midwest on Capitol Hill
On Thursday, October 17th, 242 volunteer advocates - cardiovascular disease patients, survivors, caregivers, researchers and others - from 48 states took to Capitol Hill in Washington D.C., and met with 249 House and Senate offices. We were there to advocate for a healthier life in every state in the country.

Tobacco 21 – It’s not a moment; it’s a movement
Our work to raise the sale age of tobacco to 21 across the state is proving that it isn’t just a fad, it is what the Minnesotans want. 40 different communities from all over the state have already passed Tobacco 21 laws! We were very close of passing it at the state level and we are going to push it again this year.

Let's Keep Minnesotans Covered!
We're working to keep access to quality health care coverage for Minnesotans – including low-income families and children, and the disabled. The Health Care Access Fund which is funded by the health care provider tax provides this coverage and we need to protect it!

Happy Holidays, Superheroes!
As we enjoy this season of thanks, we would be remiss if we didn’t express our sincerest thanks to you, our advocates. Though we live in different places across the country, we all come together to use our superhero advocacy powers – you are saving lives by using your voice!
