The Center for Disease Control and Prevention recently released data from their Youth Risk Behavior Survey that shows E-cigarette use among youth is still rising and more kids are getting hooked on tobacco.

As the weather improves, we understand the challenges of remaining physically active while following social distancing guidelines. It’s hard enough to find time when you aren’t looking after schoolwork with your kids and thinking about how to keep yourself or your family safe. Governor Hogan vetoed tobacco tax legislation. Now we act to override his veto.
Governor Hogan vetoed legislation that included an increase in our state tobacco tax and COVID-19 relief. The American Heart Association is disappointed with this decision because these policies were important to the health of all Marylanders.
