May is National Stroke Month
May is National Stroke Month and it’s a good time to make sure we are all aware of strokes. Not only how to prevent and treat them, but how to ensure everyone has access to quality stroke care.

Know Diabetes by Heart
Cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death and a major cause of heart attacks, strokes and disability for people living with type 2 diabetes – yet only about half recognize their risk. This problem is too big for any one organization to address on its own, which is why we need your help!
Advocates have the power
We’ve all come to have an interest in heart health in different ways. Some of us might be in the medical field, some may have experienced a heart condition themselves or know someone who has. Whatever the reason, we all see that its important to think about heart health and to act on it in our own lives. We are passionate to work towards a world with less cardiovascular disease and stroke. To live in a world where all people have access to education, care, and resources to be heart healthy. If you’ve been an AHA supporter for a while, you know this is our mission and why we strive to be a relentless force for a world of longer, healthier lives. As a You’re the Cure Advocate, we know you believe in this too and we thank you.

Tobacco 21 Expansion Continues in Kansas Despite Lawsuit
Despite a lawsuit filed against the City of Topeka after their passage of Tobacco 21, efforts continue unabated in KS. Douglas County commissioners recently held a hearing on the issue and appear poised to approve the measure soon. This would be the 22nd municipality in Kansas to pass the life-saving measure.
Add color with pride
Did you know that LGBTQI Pride month is also National Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Month? Celebrate both with a rainbow of colorful fruits and vegetables.
