Alabama

Jay Dill, Jacksonville
I am pleased to serve as the Vice-Chair of the 2017-18 American Heart Association's Alabama Advocacy Committee. I always thought I understood how fragile life was. When I would hear people talk about not taking life for granted, I automatically would think of important times in my life - like holding my son for the very first time or standing at a funeral of a relative who died earlier than expected.

Jessica James, Mobile
Our 2017-18 Alabama Advocacy Committee is composed of individuals from across the state with different occupations, who have a great interest in advocating for policy change for heart-health issues. We'd like you to meet our committee chair, Jessica James of Mobile. This is Jessica's second year as chairman of the committee. Jessica recently advocated during AHA's Federal Lobby Day, You're the Cure on the Hill, in June.

I’ve advocated and coordinated events and galas for eight years. Excited about promoting heart health for women can’t begin to express my feelings. Hard work, yes, but it generates such joy and compassion for educating women of this dreadful disease. God placed this endeavor on my mind, and impressed it in my heart to do.
