We have big news to share. Federal lawmakers have reached a bipartisan, bicameral deal on legislation that would protect patients from most surprise medical bills! The No Surprises Act would end nearly two years of debate on an issue that has had strong bipartisan support in both the US House of Representatives and Senate.

According to insiders on Capitol Hill and various media outlets, this legislation could be attached to a year end spending bill that is needed to avert a partial government shutdown later this week.
While the announcement of the bipartisan, bicameral deal is great news, nothing is guaranteed until legislation is signed into law. Much could happen (or not happen) between now and the end of the year. This is a critical moment for the nearly 68% of Americans with private insurance who have received a surprise bill, and we can’t let our guard down. At this pivotal time, it is imperative that your lawmakers hear from you; and know that you want them to pass legislation to protect patients from surprise bills.
Stay tuned on this, as much is happening in D.C. and thing could happen fast. We will be sure to keep you informed as circumstances change but please do your part and call your U.S. Senators today!
