Wyoming Stroke Survivors: We want to hear from you!

The American Heart Association is seeking Wyomingites who have had a stroke and are willing to share their story during the month of May for American Stroke Month. Opportunities may include media interviews, blog stories or meetings with your lawmakers.  We will work to find something that works for you! Also, if you know someone that has had a stroke and might be interested in this opportunity please share with them.

Stroke is the No. 5 cause of death and leading cause of disability in the United States, yet, many Americans don’t think of stroke as a major health concern. But the truth is, a stroke can happen to anyone at any time, and at any age. In fact, someone suffers a stroke every 40 seconds. We aim to reduce those statistics by raising awareness through the voice of someone who has survived a stroke.

With your help, we can teach Wyoming residents how to recognize, respond to and recover from a stroke. Together, we can save lives and fight to end stroke. Please contact Kristen Waters to share your story: [email protected], or 402-960-6078.
