Complete Streets is an approach to roadway design that helps communities develop a vision and plan-out features that enable people to share the road safely with cars and trucks. A Complete Street approach:

  • Incorporates accessible sidewalks, bike lanes, and safe street crossings in road design
  • Increases connectivity from neighborhoods to community parks, playgrounds, schools and shopping areas
  • Enables people to live more physically active lifestyles

This past year, there was considerable support among NH lawmakers for a statewide Complete Streets Policy, but they stopped short of passing a bill this session. The AHA needs You’re The Cure advocates to continue to press their legislators for this policy that will have long-term benefits to improving the health and vitality of our communities.
