Almost thirteen years ago I suffered a hemorrhagic stroke. It was a life altering event. Prior to my stroke I had a fulfilling career as a title officer and I loved helping people solve their real estate problems. In addition to my career I enjoyed working on detailed crafts like sewing, quilting and basket making. The cognitive damage I suffered kept me from returning to work and my hobbies which initially was very hard to accept.
With the support of my husband I have worked hard to accept my new life. I recently became a stroke ambassador for the American Heart and American Stroke Association so I can show others that life might change but you can always find a way to contribute.
