Sharon, Alaska

I have always known that heart disease was hereditary. I had my first blood clot in 1964 and the next clot in 1983. I started to feel tired easily and was often out of breath. I asked my doctor to set up a program of physcial therapy and exercise. During the preliminary tests I was put on “heart attack alert” and told that my heart was so blocked that I shouldn’t be alive. I had triple bypass surgery and with the help of friends, family and the American Heart Association, I was back on my feet and in good shape.
