Separating the Truth from the Myths: New Cholesterol Guidelines

 

Cholesterol is a concern for many Americans.  Even those who exercise and eat a healthy diet can be at risk for high cholesterol because of hereditary factors.  As you may have heard, earlier this month, the American Heart Association and American College of Cardiology published new guidelines on lifestyle, obesity, risk assessment and cholesterol to help patients and physicians determine the best ways to prevent a heart attack or stroke.  These new guidelines have been met with some confusion so we'd like to help our advocates separate the truth from the myths.  AHA CEO Nancy Brown authored the following column in the Huffington Post to help Americans discern how these new guidelines with help reduce the risk of high cholesterol.  For the complete post, CLICK HERE
