We hope you enjoyed celebrating several recent local policy wins we've accomplished together (see below) and hearing how much our Southeast Advocacy Team appreciates your time and support. You truly are making a positive difference by sharing your stories, calling/writing elected officials, submitting letters to the editor and so much more.

  • Secure funding in Chattanooga, TN to support the creation of a new Office of Community Health that will focus on reducing racial disparities in health outcomes, building regional partnerships, and increasing health literacy
  • Secure funding to expand Wholesome Wave Georgia's SNAP healthy incentives program in Fulton County
  • Protect and defend the Smoke-free Shreveport, LA ordinance against the casino industry to ensure bar and casino employees can breathe smoke-free air at work

Special thanks to our guest speakers: Laura Bracci, Georgia Government Relations Director; Leanne Durm-Minoux, Tennessee Government Relations Director; and Ashley Hebert, Louisiana Government Relations Director.

In light of the holiday season, we will resume our monthly You're the Cure Southeast chats in January. Several states in the southeast will be entering into session that month with the rest of the states not far behind. We invite you to sign up for our next chat on Monday, January 24th when we'll share tips on how to be a strong advocate during your state's session.

PS. Watch your inbox for an invitation to your state's session kick-off call to learn what to expect during your state's session and to discuss specific bills we're watching.
