We know there is a lot of information available about the day, so please join us here as we work to simplify that for everyone!
CALL TO BOOK YOUR LOBBY DAY APPOINTMENT
Individually scheduling your legislative appointments gives you more control of your meeting schedule during the day, and increases your chance of meeting legislators in Columbia. Please let us know when you have appointments scheduled. We will be grouping people together with similar geography and/or legislative members, and this helps us avoid scheduling conflicts.
BOOKING YOUR APPOINTMENT
If you are not sure that you provided your physical home address at registration, please let us know. This is how we are able to match you with your legislators. (We cannot match P.O. Box addresses or no addresses). If we have your home address incorrect or incomplete, please let us know ASAP so we can match you to the correct legislators.
Once that has been confirmed, please reach out to your legislators as soon as possible to request a meeting and let them know you will be in town on February 26 for American Heart Association’s advocacy day. Always let them know you are a constituent. We recommend calling their Statehouse office first, and then following up via email. We will start the day with a short program and breakfast from 8:00 – 9:30 a.m. If your legislator indicates they can only meet before 10 a.m. we will make sure you are where you need to be at the right time. The schedule for your day will primarily depend on the availability of your legislator to meet with you.

WEATHER & ATTIRE FOR THE DAY
This event will be rain or shine, so just make sure to confirm you have what you need for the day (umbrellas, jackets, etc) before you leave your home. Additionally, while we do not require a specific outfit, we do ask that you come prepared for the day in business casual clothes with comfortable shoes - and, if you choose, please consider wearing your brightest American Heart Association red!
