The American Heart Association joined with hundreds of other advocacy groups earlier this month in Washington, DC for the Rally for Medical Research. Fifteen You're the Cure advocates from across the country were able to meet with their lawmakers to urge them to support increased and ongoing National Institutes of Health (NIH) medical research funding.
While our advocates were in Washington, DC, You're the Cure advocates across the country were participating in the Rally for Medical Research day of action. Advocates could email, tweet or call their lawmakers. We flooded Capitol Hill with a united message to make NIH medical research funding a priority.
And there is still time to add your voice! You can still take action to let your lawmaker know that heart and stroke research needs to be a priority.
