Putting the Thanks Back into Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving is a perfect time to come together with family and friends and reflect on what we are thankful for. Joe is thankful for the teachers trained in CPR who saved his daughter, Olivia’s life. Bert and his family are thankful because Derek learned CPR in his school and was there to save his life when he suffered sudden cardiac arrest.  Lily is thankful for the high quality of care she received because of a strong system of care in place when she suffered her stroke. These are just a few of the people who are thankful because you took action on our policy priorities, making our towns safer and giving our family, friends, and neighbors the opportunities to live healthier longer lives.

What are some things you are thankful for this year? I am thankful for YOU! I am thankful for all your time and efforts to support our work. I am thankful that you take time out of your busy lives and made issue of heart and stroke a priority. So many families have YOU to thank this year because of your actions. Take time this Thanksgiving to know that thanks to you our Massachusetts schools have medical emergency response plans in place and healthier options for our children, residents of the Commonwealth have access to affordable, quality care and comprehensive tobacco cessation services, we have AEDs in all health clubs and we are working towards ensuring that if you suffer a heart attack or stroke you will be given the best possible level of care no matter where you go.
