Speak up for physical education in NYC

Many NYC students still do not have access to an effective physical education program at their schools. An effective PE program – including a certified instructor and adequate time and physical education space – is vital for allowing every child to thrive and live up to their full potential.

The NYC Council recently released a report on school overcrowding that examined whether our schools have safe, appropriate space for PE. While it is encouraging that the Council is looking at this issue, we need you to remind Council Speaker Corey Johnson and Education Committee Chair Mark Treyger of the importance of quality physical education for the physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing of kids across New York.
