Right now, important budget negotiations are happening that will impact the potential success of three of our bills to improve public health:

  • A sugary drink excise tax, which can help raise at least $368 million for key programs, like clean drinking water, across the Commonwealth.
  • Healthy food access for underserved communities provided by the Massachusetts Food Trust.
  • Tobacco prevention and cessation program funding

We believe these initiatives will provide for a healthier citizenry in Massachusetts, bring in critical revenue and will save health care dollars.
