Our Kids Deserve More PE in NYC!

Last week, advocates from across New York City, including Josh and his mother, Cori Banks Eastmond of Queens (pictured), joined with the American Heart Association for our first annual NYC Lobby Day: Heartbeat of the District.  Dressed in red, New Yorkers met with their City Council Members to share their passion for improving physical education in our city.

Daily, quality PE is important to help motivate a lifetime appreciation for healthy behavior, as well as improved academic success and overall well-being.  Two advocates stole the show - 9-year-old's Josh and Sophia who go to separate schools and receive just 1 and 2 days of PE, respectively.  Sophia and Josh were able to strengthen our message by saying 'we want more PE!".
