It’s hard to believe it’s already June. I hope this finds you well and safe. As you know, the legislature only met for 30 days 2022 and unfortunately covid numbers were spiking at the time so it was not the year to pass big legislation.
Given these circumstances we focused our efforts on local flavored tobacco campaigns at the county level. We were excited to be part of the campaign in Washington county to pass a flavored tobacco sales restriction. It was first passed by the county council and then upheld by the voters of Washington county by a large margin! Washington county is the first, but we are determined will not be the last to pass this type of sales restriction. We are currently working with the Multnomah County council and hope they will pass a similar restriction later this summer.
