One of the key policy goals of the American Heart Association is Medicaid expansion. The COVID-19 pandemic has emphasized the critical importance of having adequate health insurance. At last count, nearly 200,000 Oklahomans are caught in the coverage gap: they make too much to qualify for Medicaid, but not enough to afford private health insurance. These are Oklahoma working families, young adults, and seniors. Now more than ever, we must ensure that all Oklahomans have access to quality, affordable health care coverage.
Governor Stitt has just released a date for Oklahomans to vote on Medicaid expansion: Tuesday, June 30th, 2020.
The American Heart Association supports expanding Medicaid in Oklahoma and closing the coverage gap. Will you stand with us? Sign our Medicaid Expansion pledge today. Over the coming weeks, we will be in touch to let you know how you can make sure Oklahoma working families and seniors have access to affordable, quality health care coverage.
