The legislative session is in full swing and flying fast! The first deadline for legislation to be out of standing committee is set for March 2, which makes for packed agendas in all Senate and House committees and subcommittees. Our team has been hard at work defeating legislation that would expand the Purchase Use and Possession (PUP) laws by placing unnecessary fines on minors. We are proud to report our work on defending the expansion of PUP laws is paying off and we’ve successfully stopped a harmful piece of legislation in its tracks. In partnership with the Oklahoma 911 Management Authority, we are one step closer in the legislative process to confirming all 911 call takers in the state will be required to undergo CPR training. This makes for more equipped and better prepared public safety agents and call takers. This is a huge step in the right direction for Oklahomans and an issue we are proud to support.
