2022 Oklahoma Heart at the Capitol Lobby Day

We want YOU to join us and other advocates from across the Sooner state as we show our support for policies that will build a healthier Oklahoma!

Our day will begin at 9 a.m. with an advocacy workshop where we will sharpen our skills and learn more about the issues we will discuss with lawmakers. After a boxed lunch, we'll meet with legislators. Beverages and snacks will be available throughout the morning. The event is free to attend, and your lunch and refreshments are included at no cost but please RSVP below.

We will be meeting with lawmakers to discuss a bill (HB 3315) that would remove purchase, use and possession (PUP) penalties that can harm youth instead of help them quit a tobacco/nicotine addiction. You can read more about why this is important. It has passed the House, and the Senate Health & Human Services Committee and will soon be heard in the Senate floor.

Bookmark this page, as we will be updating it with more information about lobby day as we move closer to the event.

Please note: The American Heart Association places and emphasis on the health and safety of our staff and volunteers. There are currently no regulations in place at the Capitol regarding masking, vaccinations, or any other safety protocols, although certain lawmakers request visitors wear masks to their offices.

To reassure our guests, survivors, volunteers, supporters and staff, all Lobby Day participants are encouraged to wear a high-quality, close-fitting mask anytime they are indoors and not actively eating or drinking. While attending Lobby Day, some Capitol staff and elected officials may not be wearing masks, however as a health-centered organization, individuals representing the American Heart Association are encouraged to follow these COVID-19 guidelines. Please do not attend the event if you are not feeling well or have symptoms, regardless of your vaccine status. If you have a condition that weakens your immune system or take certain medications, you may need to take extra precautions even if you are fully vaccinated, as instructed by your doctor. The AHA encourages you and everyone you love, care for, or care about to be vaccinated and boosted.
