On March 1, 2017, advocates from around Ohio came to the Capitol to advocate for several key issues, including access to healthy foods, stroke systems of care and tobacco prevention and cessation.
The 70 advocates participated in an issue training and then headed out to meetings with key legislators to voice the support for all three issues. In addition, advocates did additional outreach to the other offices, while they were in Columbus. With the Ohio budget discussion heating up, this was a critical time for the issues. The Ohio advocates were able to provide a strong voice in support.
Special thanks to all of our advocates on March 1, as well as those participating in the Virtual Advocacy Day. Advocates are already conducting follow up to the meetings.
