October is Sudden Cardiac Arrest Awareness Month. Are you prepared to save a life?

Sudden Cardiac Arrest is a leading cause of death in the United States.  More than 1,000 Rhode Islanders – mothers, fathers, brothers, sisters, sons and daughters – will lose their lives to sudden cardiac arrest this year.

Most people who experience cardiac arrest at home, work or in a public location die because they don't receive immediate CPR from someone on the scene.  Bystander CPR can double or even triple survival rates from sudden cardiac arrest.

Be prepared to save a life.  You can learn how to give Hands-Only CPR by viewing a simple one-minute video at www.heart.org/handsonlycpr.  Watch the video and then share it with the important people in your life!
