The Oahu Heart Walk scheduled on Aug. 12 from 6:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Kapiolani Park in Waikiki. Volunteers will be helping to educate Heart Walk guests about key AHA policy issues (information will be provided in advance) and explaining the You’re The Cure advocate program.

We understand if you can’t volunteer for the entire morning but if you are available for an hour we would love to have you and can work with your schedule; if you are interested in helping us please email Don Weisman.

This year’s Walk Platinum Sponsor is First Insurance Company of Hawaii which is also a sponsor of the AHA’s Healthy For Good initiative. During the Walk’s health fair and keiki zone, guests will learn simple lifestyle changes that they can implement to stay “healthy for good.” Go to www.healthyforgood.org, to learn more about the initiative.

Free parking and shuttle service to and from Kapiolani Park for the event will be available at Kapiolani Community College.

More than 5,000 Oahu residents are expected to participate in the Oahu Heart Walk. The event is designed to bring families and friends together to learn, share and practice lifestyle habits that will lead to healthier, longer lives free of heart disease and stroke. We also encouraged to help us raise money to support the Association’s work to end heart disease and stroke, and improve Hawaii resident’s health; to register click here.
