On Tuesday, May 23rd, American Heart Association advocates and staff met with the offices of several key New York City Council Members to ask for their support in increasing access to healthier food and opportunities for active living for all New Yorkers. The day helped us build some momentum on these critical issues and positions us to make a positive impact on the lives of millions of New Yorkers. It was a great first step but we need you to remind your Council Member that everyone deserves access to a healthy and active lifestyle – specifically:

  • Access to Healthy Foods in All Neighborhoods
  • Removing Sugary Drinks from Restaurant Kids’ Menus
  • Providing Effective Physical Education to All Children
  • Expanding Access to Greenways for Active Living

Please CLICK HERE to send an email to your Council Member – either thanking them if we met with them last week or asking for their support if we didn’t – and let our representatives know that we want our City to be as healthy as it can be!
