Join us in welcoming your lawmakers back to the capitol and ask them to protect our health!

As you may know, the top priority for the American Heart Association this session is to pass a significant cigarette tax increase of $1.50 per pack and an equivalent increase in the tax on other tobacco products. This is a proven strategy to fight the most preventable cause of death - tobacco use.

In addition to this issue, we also will monitor the appropriations process to ensure no cuts are made to the Office of Tobacco Control for tobacco control education or to the STEMI and Stroke Systems of Care that is used to implement educational opportunities and registries that improve care.

Lastly, we will monitor all legislation as it relates to heart disease and stroke. We anticipate access to care to be a hot topic.

We're counting on You're the Cure advocates to speak up for policies that impact heart disease and stroke. Together, we can be a relentless force for a world of longer, healthier lives.

Hurry and email your legislators today! Let them know you're counting on their support to pass policies that fight heart disease and stroke.
