Montana Goes Red at the Capitol

The Montana kickoff to the 2013 American Heart Month was a resounding success.  We partnered with the Veteran Administration Hospital staff, Carroll College in Helena, Jefferson County High School, St Peter's Hospital and Macy's to celebrate Go Red For Women at the VA, Macy's department store and to teach hands-only CPR to legislators and the public during the Legislative Session.  Approximately 60 Montanans attended the Capitol hands-only demonstration while 30/40 danced around the Senate Rotunda to the tune of Staying Alive.

The next day AHA was busy participating with St. Peter's Hospital &  shoppers at Macy's where hundreds of Helenans received free wellness exams, blood pressure testing and information on AHA's CPR programs.  Finally, AHA participated with the staff of the Veterans Administration at Fort Harrison, MT in Go Red events tailored to our Vets.  The day culminated in the VA staff and AHA making a huge, red human heart on the grounds of the hospital.
