Michigan Goes Red

Earlier this month, a Go Red for Women Resolution will be introduced in the Michigan House and Senate by Rep. Julie Calley and Sen. Ruth Johnson. Governor Whitmer also expressed her support of the American Heart Association’s mission to raise awareness and held a press conference/ceremony in the Capitol Rotunda.

Send a message of thanks to these three for supporting women’s cardiovascular health and urge your lawmakers to support heart-healthy policies in 2019!

Right now is a perfect time to introduce or remind lawmakers of the heart-healthy impact our policy priorities can have on the residents of Michigan. Let them know they can be a relentless force for a world of longer, healthier lives by funding and increasing the purchasing power of SNAP, and enacting statewide standards for Stroke Facility designations. Tell them that by supporting a statewide tobacco 21 policy, they will be creating healthier, smoke-free generations to come. Tell them that together, we can prioritize the health of all Michiganders.
