Menthol and Race Webinar

Health and broken cigarettes

Join us on February 23rd from 12-1:00 pm for a virtual discussion about Menthol and Race led by Dr. Phillip Gardiner, co-chair of the national African American Tobacco Control Leadership Council, and Delmonte Jefferson, Director of the Center for Black Health and Equity.

We will explore the aggressive marketing practices of the tobacco industry that have led to 85% of African-American adult smokers and 7 out of 10 African American youth smokers smoking menthol cigarettes.  You will learn about efforts to advance policy for the elimination of flavors from all tobacco products, including e-cigarettes and menthol combustibles; and the need to address health and racial equity through tobacco policy.
