Meet Rebecca and Megan

Hi! I'm Megan Klein and I'm the new Senior Grassroots Director covering Colorado and Texas. Since we're new around here, I wanted to take a minute to introduce myself and the new Director of Government Relations, Rebecca Levin. You'll notice emails coming in from us asking for your help on various AHA initiatives in the future, and we wanted to introduce ourselves and invite you to tell us more about you!

Hometown: Austin, Texas

Favorite movie: It's a toss-up between You've Got Mail and Sleepless in Seattle -- Love Meg Ryan!

Favorite vacation spot: Asia

Hobbies: My husband is starting a brewery, so most of my free-time goes to that and cooking

Pets: Smokey is a 14-year-old pit bull, Elephant is a 5-year-old pit bull, and Biscuit is a 6-month-old chocolate lab who terrorizes the rest of us

Secret talent: I speak a little bit of conversational Mandarin that I picked up while teaching English in Taiwan in 2009

Why is working at the American Heart Association important to you? My Uncle Jeff died of complications from Tetralogy of Fallot when he was in his teens - long before I was born. It's the same congenital heart defect Jimmy Kimmel's son had, but thanks to modern medicine and I'm sure in big part to the Heart Association, Jimmy Kimmel's son will be just fine. I'm proud to work for an organization that works hard every day to improve the lives of so many.

One of the things I'm most looking forward to as I settle in to my new position is being out in the field and meeting YOU!

Thanks for everything you do, and please introduce yourself when you see us at an event!
