Meet Nebraska's new Regional Grassroots Advocacy Director, Christy Dreiling

Hello Nebraska! My name is Christy Dreiling and I’m your new Regional Grassroots Advocacy Director. Although I’m new to Nebraska, I’ve worked for the American Heart Association for close to 10 years during which I’ve been a part of many issue campaigns and had the honor of working side-by-side with hundreds of amazing volunteers. In addition to Nebraska, my territory includes Missouri and my home state of Kansas.

I was born and raised in Hays, Kansas where I graduated from Fort Hays State University. I currently live in the Kansas City area with my family – including my 18-month-old daughter, Quinn. When I’m not traveling around the midwest to work with you fine folks, you will find me snuggling with my daughter and spending my spare time googling how to stop a toddler from throwing food at my head or jumping head-first off the couch. I’m really loving this Mom gig and trying to take in every single second of these sweet years.

Becoming a parent has really made me even more passionate about the American Heart Association’s issues that directly affect children such as increasing tobacco taxes to prevent youth from ever becoming smokers, healthy school meals and quality physical education. During my career at the AHA, I’m most proud of the work we’ve done to create healthier environments for our children to grow up in.

I look forward to meeting and working with you to continue to make Nebraska a heart-healthy place to work, live and play and want to say THANK YOU for all of the time, effort and passion you put into advancing our mission.
